Installation
Test Rig:
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 45nm
Gigabyte X48T-DQ6
Corsair DDR3-1600 4GB Kit
Asus Radeon HD 3850 X2
Silverstone Decathlon DA-800
CoolIT Domino A.L.C. Liquid Cooling System
Thermaltake Xaser VI Full Tower
Seagate Barracuda SATA 3.0 250 gig hard drive (for installation into enclosure)
Windows Vista Home 64-bit
Installation is fairly simple, remove the three screws from the smoked plastic area on the base, and pull out the internals of the enclosure.
When the internals are removed, we see it is a fairly simple affair, a slot for the hard drive with the SATA connectors at the end, and ports for USB, eSATA, and power.
Insert the hard drive until it makes connection with the SATA connectors. Gently push it until the connectors are in place. Use the included screws to secure the drive.
Replace the internals into the base and screw it back in. Locate the cable connector cover door on the bottom of the base and remove it. Connect the power cable and either the USB cable or eSATA cable.
Replace the door, connect the power cable to a surge suppressor, connect the eSATA cable to your rig, and you’re done.
Testing
For testing I used HD Tune. I tested the `Na both in eSATA and USB.
Definitely a difference between eSATA and USB.
