ICY DOCK MB668U-1SB 2.5-inch External Hard Drive Enclosure Review

Installation & General Usage
One thing I really like about this hard drive enclosure is that it installion is extememly simple and tool-less! Since this drive does have an eSATA port I decided to install the Crucial M225 256GB solid state drive. To start installation press the lever on the back and release the top of the enclosure. Then connect it to your 2.5-inch SATA drive.

From there side the drive into the other end of the enclosure and lock it into place. It’s that simple, not much to it at all!

Like I said this drive does have an eSATA port on it, but you will have to use the included USB power cable to power the drive when in eSATA mode. Also ICY DOCK does not provide a eSATA bracket for the back of your PC so you will either need to buy one or hope that your case has an eSATA port on it. When the drive is powered on there is a small blue LED that lights up the drive a little bit.

The enclosure does come with the PCClone EX Lite backup software. The software itself is not that powerful but does allow you to use the one touch backup button on the back of the drive. Although it seems it is only limited to USB devices so if you have the drive connected via eSATA you can not use the one touch backup backup feature on the drive.
