iBUYPOWER Revolt Gaming System Review

iBUYPOWER Revolt Overview
For a full video overview of the Revolt check out our video below.

When you first take a look at the Revolt you can see that it has a very unique design that stands out.  It does keep the same type of form factor that we have seen from other currently available living room gaming systems.  The only way I can really describe this form factor would be much like an Xbox 360.  The Revolt is a bit larger than an Xbox 360 though at 4.5 inches wide, 16 inches tall, and 16.2 inches deep.

The plastic casing was made completely in house by iBUYPOWER.  It is all white with a black front bezel.  All over the casing you will find triangle-shaped openings which not only looks cool, but allows the system to “breathe”.  The system can be placed vertically or horizontally depending on how you want it.  There are 4 rubber feet on the bottom which allows you to have it set vertically.  3 rubber feet on the left side allow for it to be place down horizontally.

On the front bezel on the Revolt has all of your connections and buttons.  There is a large triangular power button, smaller reset button, slot loaded optical drive, SD card reader, two USB 3.0 ports, and headphone and microphone ports.  Towards the top there is a Revolt logo that will light up when the system is turned on.

At the back of the case you will find the rest of the connections for your system.  They include four USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, PS/2 dual port, ethernet port and, audio connections and clear CMOS switch.  iBUYPOWER is using their own motherboard with the Revolt so we really do not know that much about.  Since it is their own motherboard they were able to completely remove the display connections on the motherboard.  You can also see the connections on the GeForce GTX 670 video card which include two DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort.  The casing can be opened by removing two screws on the back and sliding the panel back.  When you get inside you can see there is not a whole lot of room inside.  Everything has its place and it is really impressive how much iBUYPOWER was able to cram into this case.  Yes this system is watercooled too!  iBUYPOWER is using the NZXT Kraken X40 CPU cooler, the radiator actually sits under the optical drive.  Also we can see the power supply that iBUYPOWER is using, they list it as “Revolt Custom 500w PSU” on the spec sheet but it is an FSP 550W 80PLUS Gold certified power supply.
