HyperX Adds 7.1 Dolby Audio To Its Cloud Revolver Headset

The HyperX Cloud Revolver is a great headset on its own. I actually use it at the office daily. Well at CES 2017 HyperX was showing off an updated version called the Cloud Revolver S. The biggest upgrade is that HyperX has added 7.1 channel audio, and not just ordinary 7.1 channel audio, but Dolby 7.1 channel audio!

Besides adding 7.1 channel Dolby audio HyperX has made some other minor adjustments. First the earcups have a more matte black design instead of shiny or reflective black. Also accents on the ear cups and headband are now white not red. Talking about the headband it is not larger to offer more comfort as well.

Controlling the Dolby 7.1 is quite easy, there is an in-line controller that will one press enables the Dolby audio. Also on the controller you have a large microphone mute button, audio and microphone volume wheels, and a button that will cycle through three different EQ modes.

If you want to use the headset as just a stereo headset HyperX will also include an adapter cable which will give you both microphone and headphone inputs as well. HyperX plans to release the Cloud Revolver S Gaming Headset for $149 in March.
