Host a Gaming Weekend with Your Friends This Summer

As computer enthusiasts, we love all things tech, especially video games. I don’t think I’ve met a fellow geek who does not enjoy gaming to some extent, and it goes without saying that having friends over without gaming is like traveling back in time to the 1800’s. The cool thing about being a gamer in today’s world is that you no longer have to go over to your friend’s house to play a game with them thanks to the awesome realm of online multiplayer. However, that doesn’t mean that playing together in person isn’t more fun, because for most people it absolutely is. If you can’t make it to hang out in person with your friends you can always check out gclub. With that said, here are a few reasons why you might want to consider having a gaming weekend with your friends this summer rather than just hopping into games with strangers in online lobbies:

1. Plan a Party Around it
What good is a gaming weekend without a party? Now that it’s summertime and the Premier League season is fast approaching, there are going to be plenty of things to do and talk about, so make the experience as festive as it can be. Of course, a good party can’t go without food, so why not make it a barbie? A fun game to play during weekend barbies is BBQ slots – you take a spin and grab whatever food item or dish you land on; landing on the steak is like winning the jackpot, only more delicious. You can play similar slot games with desert items to cap it off.

2. Make it a Tournament
If you’re going to be playing video games with a bunch of your friends for an entire weekend you might as well make it an actual tournament to take it the next level. Even better, offer an appealing prize to the winner of the tournament and/or have some betting action going on. If you want to see a standard gaming party jump up a notch, all you have to do is involve money and prizes and you’re good to go. For the sake of being fair and not drawing things out, it would probably be a good idea to split up the weekend into multiple tournaments so everybody gets several chances to win and you’re not waiting all weekend to see who the winners are.

3. Bring Your Best
A summer gaming party is also a perfect opportunity to share and show off your coolest tech gadgets and devices. Find out what kind of gaming platforms will be there and try to bring any that won’t. After all, what’s the point in having gaming party without multiple consoles? You might even want to set up several screens to maximise the action. Ideally, you’ll want to create the ultimate gamer’s room to serve as the setting for your weekend of gaming greatness.

Don’t Forget the Anti-glare Screens and Beverages
Why would anyone have a summer party and completely omit sunlight? Unfortunately, we all know that the sun’s bright rays and flat screens don’t mix very well because the result is your game screen being transformed into a glossy mirror. Thus, be sure to bring anti-glare filters to make the experience easy on the eyes and plenty of beverages to keep everybody well hydrated and at their top of their game.
