Hands On With Mad Catz E.S. PRO 1 Gaming Earbuds

If you didn’t know many eSports players actually wear earbuds under their large headphones. Many of them actually prefer the earbuds as they are more lightweight and can sit in your ears for long period of time without irritation. At CES this year Mad Catz showed us their E.S. PRO 1 which are earbuds specifically designed for eSports players.

Mad Catz pinpointed the essential features of gaming headsets, then loaded them into tournament-grade earbuds. The E.S. PRO 1 gaming earbuds feature big 13.5 mm drivers, which means far less audio distortion, and better audio accuracy. The earbuds are also acoustically isolated so it blocks out all of the sound around you. To keep the earbuds in your ears there are rubber arms that are designed to fit in your ears and Mad Catz supplies three different sizes of ear tips for the best fit.

There is an omnidirectional boom mic attached to the earbuds, but it can be removed when you are not using it. There is a secondary microphone on the in-line controls so you can still use the earbuds to take calls, etc. The in-line controls give you volume control and the ability to mute. The earbuds come with a typical 3.5mm connector so you can use it with your PS4, Xbox One and mobile devices. There is also a splitter cable with both headphone and microphone connectors for PC. The E.S. PRO 1 Gaming Earbuds are available now for only $50.
