Video Card: XFX 9800 GTX Black Edition
Tests were conducted under idle and load states. The computer was left to sit after 30 minutes after being turned on to check the idle temperature. The load temperature was found by running the latest version of Prime95 which supports multi-core CPUs by default. Temperatures were obtained through SpeedFan.
With two fans the Igloo 5610 Plus Silent performed at about average among our other CPU coolers. A stable 43C was achieved in Idle while a stable 55C was achieved under load conditions. This cooler performed among the middle to upper half of CPU coolers we’ve tested.
Conclusion
The GlacialTech Igloo 5610 Plus Silent CPU Cooler is a small, yet powerful cooler. While I can’t say that I enjoyed installing the fans, it did provide decent cooling to the CPU. This CPU Cooler isn’t the best, but it’s also not the worst. It ranks in the upper half of our testing results and fits nicely for its multiple platform support. I was only able to find one price for the Igloo 5610 Plus PWM online for a price of around $16. If this is the true price, then it would probably make the Plus Silent, what we reviewed, about $5 more, which would make it a great price. Overall it provides decent cooling performance, but lacks a user friendly installation. Overall Think Computers would like to award the GlacialTech 5610 Plus Silent CPU Cooler an 8 out of 10 score.
Pros:
– Decent cooling
– Small profile
– Silent
Cons:
– Fans difficult to install
