Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H Intel Z77 Motherboard Review

Final Thoughts
Once again Gigabyte has impressed us with a very solid motherboard.  The Z77X-UD3H sits in the mid to high mainstream segment when it comes to their Z77 offerings and users of this board are going to be very impressed.  I really, really like the board design and layout.  That dark gunmetal color looks good inside of any case!  The layout of the board is just exceptional, having the reset CMOS, reset and power buttons at the top of the board is well thought out.  It is likely that at the top of the board they are not going to be covered, making them easier to access.  Also having the USB 3.0 header in the center of the board is definitely a plus.

Talking about headers and connectors you sure have a lot of them.  On the board itself you have three USB 2.0 headers for all of the cases with front panel ports.  You also have six USB 3.0 ports, plus the included header on the board!  If you plan on using the integrated GPU that is inside your processor you have quite a lot of display options to choose from as this board has VGA, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort connections.

If you are going to go the discrete video card route you have the two PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots (which will run at x8 with 2 cards installed) and the bottom PCI-Express x16 slot (always running at x4).  I like that Gigabyte has also included the legacy PCI slot, many people still use PCI components, especially people that are upgrading.

As far as overclocking goes we were able to achieve our highest overclock ever with our Intel Core i5-2500K!  A 1.4GHz (42%) overclock up from the stock 3.3GHz to 4.7GHz!  One thing that is great about Gigabyte is that they give you many different options when it comes to overclocking.  You can do it with the EasyTune6 software, which actually has built in overclocks into it and you can do it in the 3D BIOS or the normal BIOS.

The 3D BIOS is something I want to mention.  It is one of the best and easy to use graphical BIOS’s that I have used and even if you have never used a computer BIOS before the 3D BIOS is very inviting and easy to understand and operate.

Right now there is no official price for the board, but we will update the review to reflect that when to board is available for purchase.  I’m sure like all Gigabyte’s boards this one will be priced very competitively.  The board also comes with a 3 year warranty.  Overall ThinkComputers gives the Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H Intel Z77 Motherboard a 10 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award!
