GALAX Shows Off New Hall Of Fame SSDs

GALAX is a company we primarily know for their high-performance graphics cards, but at Computex 2016 they are showing off some very impressive solid state drives. The drives on display span the three key enthusiast form factors which include 2.5-inch with a 32 Gb/s U.2 interface, 32 Gb/s M.2, and PCI-Express 3.0 x4 with add-on card.

All of the drives seem to be powered by a custom controller that offers some very impressive transfer rates up to 2500 MB/s read. Starting with the 2.5-inch U.2 form factor drive, it will come in 512 GB and 1 TB versions. It has speeds of 2500 MB/s read, 1200 MB/s write, 300,000 IOPS 4K random reads, and 250,000 IOPS 4K random writes.

Moving on to the M.2 drives, they will come in two module lengths. First you have the more common M.2-2280 and then there is the longer M.2-22110. It will come in capacities up to 512 GB and offers read and write performance of 2500 MB/s and 1350 MB/s respectively. The longer M.2-22110 will come in capacities up to 1 TB and has the same transfer rates as the U.2 drives.
