G.SKILL Ripjaws V DDR4-3200 8GB Dual Channel Memory Kit Review

Final Thoughts
Here we have another great memory kit from G.SKILL! When I think of memory, especially high-performance memory G.SKILL is typically at the top of my list. They actually have some of the fastest DDR4 available right now and this kit is no exception to that. It is actually the fastest dual-channel DDR4 kit that we have tested to date!

The 8GB F4-3200C16D-8GVK kit runs at an impressive 3200 MHz with timings of 16-16-16-36 at 1.35V. Since this memory supports XMP 2.0 all we had to do was set the XMP profile in the BIOS and we were good to go. While 3200 MHz is already quite fast we were able to push this kit up to 3333 MHz with a little voltage bump and slightly loosening the timings. This is still very impressive. Keep in mind also that as the Z170 platform matures overclocking will become easier and we will see overclocks get higher.

While the memory kit is not overly flash it does look great. Our kit has an all black heatspreader with a matching black PCB. G.SKILL also offers this kit with a red heatspreader. Those two color options will allow you to match the memory with most motherboards out there. Also the little G.SKILL logo on the top of the heatspreaders adds a little more style.

The exact kit that we reviewed today is selling online for around $77.99. Keep in mind that G.SKILL also offers this exact same memory in a 16GB kit too. All G.SKILL memory comes with a lifetime warranty. Overall ThinkComputers gives the G.SKILL Ripjaws V DDR4-3200 8GB Dual Channel Memory Kit a 10 out of 10 score.
