Futuremark Working On New DirectX 12 and Vulkan Benchmarks

Futuremark is working on two new tests for its 3DMark benchmarking suite. The first is a new DirectX 12 benchmark. While we already have “Time Spy”, the new DirectX 12 benchmark will be less taxing and is made to test notebook graphics and entry-level graphics cards. It will be much like how “Sky Diver” was a less intensive test to “Fire Strike”.

Next Futuremark is working on a benchmark that will take advantage of the Vulkan 3D graphics API. This benchmark will be available on both Windows and Android platforms. Finally it looks like the development of Futuremark’s VR benchmarks are coming along quite nicely. Futuremark hopes to release new VR benchmarks for both PC and mobile platforms soon.

All of these new benchmark tests are expected to be revealed at CES 2017 in January.
