Fractal Design Define C Case Review

Installation
Now it is time for installation! The first thing we will be installing is our motherboard. The standoffs are not pre-installed, so you’ll need to install them. Fractal Design does include a standoff tool to make the process easier. Our motherboard went in without any issues at all.

Next is our hard drives. We will be installing two 2.5-inch solid state drives. What better place to install them than the backside of the motherboard tray. The SSD bracket is easily removed by a single thumbscrew and then you can install your drives. With your drives attached to the bracket just reinstall it.

To install your power supply you’ll need to remove the power supply bracket from the case and install it on your power supply. Then slide your power supply into the back of the case and secure it with the two thumbscrews on the power supply bracket.

We decided to install the longest graphics card we had in our build. This happened to be the Zotac GeForce GTX 980 Ti AMP! graphics card. Still there were no worries at all getting it in, even with fans installed in the front of the case.

The last and final thing to do is wire everything up and route all of our cables. There were a few things I noticed when connecting everything. The holes in the power supply cover at not all that big. I was unable to route the USB 3.0 header through after I installed my motherboard. The same was true with my PCI-Express power cables. The Velcro ties on the case really help out with cable organization. With everything installed we have a very clean build.
