Fractal Design Core 500 Case Detailed

Fractal Design was showing off their cube-style Core 500 case at Computex. The catchphrase that goes with this case is “small footprint, big potential”. This mini-ITX case will let you build a pretty impressive gaming box with high-end graphics card support and liquid cooling support! The case measures 250 x 203 x 376 mm and has a multi-chamber design.

When it comes to what you can fit inside the Core 500 you have support for graphics cards as long as 310 mm, ATX power supplies as long as 170 mm (160 mm in the case of modular power supplies), and CPU coolers as tall as 170 mm. As far as storage goes there is a single 5.25-inch drive bay, and three 2.5-inch / 3.5-inch drive bays.

The case ships with a single 140 mm Fractal Design Silent R3 fan at the rear. There is room for two 140 mm fans on the top of the case or a 140 x 280 mm radiator up top. There are also ventilation holes on the sides of the case and the side and top vents feature magnetic dust filters.

On the front of the case you will find two USB 3.0 ports, and HD audio connections. The case will retail for $59.99.
