Fortnite V.1.9 Goes Live With Launch Pads In Battle Royale

Epic Games’ hit title Fortnite has been updated to version 1.9, and with that comes a new type of consumable for the Battle Royale mode, the Launch Pad.

If you have ever played Fortnite Battle Royale, or PUBG, you know that a round starts with everyone jumping from a flying vehicle, skydiving down, and then parachuting to a safe landing. After finding a Launch Pad in a Treasure Chest or Supply Drop, players can then use the consumable to deploy said device, which can then be used to fly up into the air. Once airborne, players can skydive to their desired location, and deploy their chute when needed.

This patch is already live, and from what we have seen streamed over on Twitch.tv, it looks to be like another amazing addition to the game. The Launch Pad can be used in so many different ways, and we have already seen it used to close the gap between two teams, to drop in unexpectedly for an ambush attack, and to facilitate the use of two bases with a Launch Pad at each location.

Epic has been very agile with game updates and fixes, and has also recently tweaked the drop rate of their other recent consumable addition, the Bush. Epic found that the leafy consumable was showing up too often in games, and thus tweaked the drop to be a bit more rare and stack in lower quantities.

In addition to the Launch Pad addition, Epic added many other tweaks to both versions of the game. The full list of fixes and changes can be found here: Fortnite V.1.9 Patch Notes
