Flagship Intel Core i7-6950X to Have 10 Cores!

We have not heard that much about Intel’s upcoming Broadwell-E lineup, but now we have some pretty impressive details! Broadwell-E will be the next-generation high-end desktop (HEDT) processor lineup from Intel. It will be based around the X99 platform so you will not need to upgrade your motherboard if you are currently running an X99 system.

Intel Broadwell-E

The Broadwell-E lineup will start with the flagship Core i7-6950X which will have 10 cores, 20 threads, and 25MB of L3 cache. The processor will have a base clock of 3.0 GHz and we are unsure of what it will boost up to. Moving down the line we have the Core i7-6900K with 8 cores, 16 threads, 20 MB of L3 cache and will run at 3.30 GHz. Next up is the Core i7-6850K with 6 cores, 12 threads, 15 MB of L3 cache which will run at 3.60 GHz. Finally we have Core i7-6800K that has 6 cores, 12 threads, 15MB of L3 cache and will run at 3.40 GHz.

Typically Intel has released three processors in their HEDT lineup, but this time they will have four. All Broadwell-E processors will support higher clocked DDR4 memory, and increased PCIe lanes for storage solutions like NVMe Express and 3D XPoint based Optane SSDs.

Keep in mind these are just rumors right now, but the Core i7-6950X is looking like one pretty awesome processor!
