Fallout 4 has been out for less than 24 hours and in that time it has already shattered one Steam record…well sort of! At the time of writing this there are currently 444,469 players playing Fallout 4, with today’s peak being 445,546! That is the most ever for a non-Valve developed game! Before this the game that held this record was Grand Theft Auto V when earlier this year there were around 360,000 people playing the game at once.
We assume that Fallout 4’s number will increase as the week goes on and more people get the game. While it is getting close to Valve’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2, we do not think it will surpass those titles as they always have around 500,000 players playing at once.
Another big question is what is everyone doing today? Did people take off work just to play Fallout 4? I’m sure some of you gamers did!
