EVGA TORQ X5 Gaming Mouse Review

Usage & Final Thoughts
EVGA is not a name I typically think of when it comes to gaming peripherals, but I was pleasantly surprised with the TORQ X5 gaming mouse. It has a great feel to it and is the perfect mouse for an FPS gamer. On top of that it has some nice styling and looks great sitting on your desk with 7 different LED colors to choose from.

I have been using the TORQ X5 for about 3 weeks now and I am really enjoying it. My gaming typically consists of first and third person games so the TORQ X5 is pretty good for that. The size and light weight of the mouse makes it easy to move around and it did not take me long at all to get used to the mouse. The 6400 DPI optical sensor worked very well and I did not notice any issues with it. The mouse has just the right amount of buttons and all of them are very responsive. Playing games like Payday 2 I was easily able to program the side buttons to quick weapon switch and reload. The rubberized grip on each side of the mouse makes it comfortable to hold the mouse, but I do feel that the coating on the top of the mouse is a little slippery, especially when gaming for extended hours.

EVGA’s Unleash software is very in-depth and allows you to completely tune this mouse to the exact settings that you want. It is one of the better mouse tuning apps that I have seen. It has everything that you need and none of the extra fluff. One of my favorite features of the software is that you can set specific programs / games to profiles. So if you happen to open one of these programs / games it will automatically switch to the profile you have set for it. This is very convenient and makes it so you don’t have to turn the mouse over and press the profile switch button.

Right now you can pick up the TORQ X5 at my favorite online retailer for $49.99, which I feel is the perfect price for this mouse. If you happen to prefer a laser sensor they have the TORQ X5L for $10 more. Overall ThinkComputers gives the EVGA TORQ X5 Gaming Mouse a 9 out of 10 score.
