EVGA Cashing In On Modified Graphics Card Controversy

EVGA is cashing in on the consumer anger towards both ASUS and MSI for sending out modified graphics cards with higher clock speeds than the retail versions. EVGA has released a press release in which they state they never indulge in such deceptive practices as putting up “fake” reviews, or sending out cards with “tweaked clock-speeds” to reviewers. They have added that with EVGA “What you see is what you get.”

Last week it was discovered that both MSI and ASUS were sending out modified graphics cards to the press with higher clock speeds out of the box than what consumers would get in their retail cards. While ASUS released an official statement on the matter, MSI has said nothing about it. Sadly, this is common occurrence in the GPU industry.
