EVGA Announces the SuperNOVA G3 Power Supplies

EVGA has just announced their brand new SuperNOVA G3 Power Supplies, which effectively replace the current highly regarded SuperNOVA G2 units. With the new G3 series EVGA took the best features of the G2 lineup and made them even better. The SuperNOVA G3’s are smaller in size, offer improved performance, and have a new Hydraulic Dynamic Bearing fan which gives you ultra-quiet performance and an increased lifespan.

The G3 series features a full modular design and they are much shorter than the previous G2 series at only 150 mm long, which EVGA says comes accompanied with an improvement in performance, features, and efficiency, with the company announcing an over 91% efficiency rating. You also get a new Hydraulic Dynamic Bearing fan which features EVGA’s ECO Intelligent Thermal Control System eliminating fan noise at low to medium loads.

The G3 series covers pretty much any wattage you would want with 550, 650, 750, 850 and 1000W units. The top three units (1000W, 850W, and 750W) come with a full 10-year warranty, while the two lower units (650W, 550W) come with a shorter 7-year warranty. All models feature an 80PLUS Gold certification. Other features of these units include the highest quality Japanese brand capacitors as well as heavy-duty protections including OVP (Over Voltage Protection), UVP (Under Voltage Protection), OCP (Over Current Protection), OPP (Over Power Protection), SCP (Short Circuit Protection), and OTP (Over Temperature Protection).
