Should you go with a traditional monitoring set up with wired cameras recording to back up drives, or a web based wireless solution? Packaging
The DCS-2630L comes packaged in a colorful and bright cardboard box wrapped in plastic wrap. The front of the box features a graphic of the D-Link camera and an iPhone with some product specs and text laid out around the outside edges.

Turning the box to the right we find a blue background with white text advertising the simplicity of the setup and a short listing of what is found inside. Another 90° to the right, the back of the box shows us what frame of view is to be expected as well as the two main product features (180° lens and 1080p video) and a bit of info about using the DCS-2630L in a D.I.Y. security system using all D-Link parts.

One more turn to get the full listing of basic specs for the camera and a list of minimum system requirements for your PC or smartphone. Lastly we turn the box to the bottom where we’ll find serial numbers, the MAC ID and a small badge stating a 1 year limited warranty is included.

Pulling the mostly pastel blue top off the box, we find the camera displayed beneath a white cardboard cover. After taking the cover off, the unit itself is found beneath held nicely in form fitting pieces of dense black foam.

Tipping the bottom half of the packaging over the DCS-2630L slides right out and stays in the foam packaging. Beneath the camera and another cardboard shell you will find the user manual, and a couple of other pieces of relevant slips of paper we’ll cover later. Also in the bottom of the box you will find the power adapter, a two prong US standard power plug and a bit of hardware for wall mounting the camera. Removing the foam from the camera itself is easy and we found that it did a great job of protecting the camera during shipping. We also see that the lens in the center of the camera body is further protected by a small circular piece of plastic.
