Imperial Overview
The first thing that catches your eye on the Imperial is the design on the back of the case. It is a very unique design and something that I have not seen on iPhone cases before. By looking at the design you can see why Cygnett calls this an antique-style case.
This is a single-piece case so it will fit nicely on to the back of your iPhone. It is made of polycarbonate with what seems like a rubber back. We received the black version but it also comes in white as well.
Just like any other iPhone case this Imperial has all of the necessary opening for your connections and camera on the back.
Installation & Usage
Getting your iPhone installed in the Imperial case is very simple. All you do is slide it in on the buttons side first and it goes right in. It has to be one of the easiest installs I’ve had for an iPhone case.
Doing a quick overview of everything once the case is installed I can feel that the case is nice and snug on the iPhone. Many cheap cases go on very loose, which is not good because your iPhone will take most of the impact if you drop it. All of the ports are easily accessible and there is more than enough room for the camera and flash. I did the flash test multiple times and the Imperial passed.
I have been using the Cygnett Imperial case for a good week now and I really enjoy it. It is light and simple, but does provide just enough protection for my iPhone that I feel comfortable with it. It provides just as much protection as many back-only iPhone cases. The edges go over the top of the screen just a tiny bit to give it that protection if you do drop it. Many back-only cases do not protect the sides and corners on your iPhone that well.
The case is very comfortable and easy to carry. The soft rubber back makes it easy to pick up and comfortable to hold. This case is also nice and thin so you don’t need to remove it when connecting it to your computer or when using it with iPhone speaker systems.
