Crucial Working On 16nm MLC MX100 Solid State Drive

It looks like Crucial’s next generation MX100 solid state drive series will be powered by Micron’s 16 nm MLC (Multi-Level Cell) NAND flash technology. This next generation solid state drive would come in the 2.5-inch form factor and will be showcased at Computex 2014.

The drive will have a SATA 6GB/s interface. No word yet on exact performance figures, but it is expected to fit between Crucial’s aging M500 and the recently released M550. Pricing on the drive is expected to be very competitive.
