Crucial Unveils The Ballistix TX3 PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD

Crucial has unveiled a new high performance SSD in the M.2 form factor which makes use of 32 Gb/s PCI-Express and the NVMe protocol to provide transfer speeds that are four to five times the read / write speeds of typical SATA 6 GB/s solid state drives.

The Crucial Ballistix TX3 PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD features the Silicon Motion SMI2260H controller, Crucial-made 3d (stacked) MLC NAND flash, and a large DRAM cache. No word yet on official speeds, but the ADATA SX800NP has a similar setup and the speeds of that drive are 2000 MB/s read and 800 MB/s write.
