Corsair Obsidian Air 540D Unveiled

Corsair is showing off a pretty cool case at Computex and something quite different. The Corsair Obsidian Air 540D is a cube-style case that is actually split into two parts. On the left side you have your motherboard and video cards and on the right you have the rest of your components. It is pretty radical, check out the photos!

The left side of the case includes large air vents on the front and top, we are guessing this is why Corsair is calling this the “Obsidian Air”. The left side will house your motherboard, CPU, memory and expansion cards. There is also room for two 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch hard drives below the motherboard. The left side has two front-facing 140mm fans, a rear 140mm fan, dual 120mm fan spots on the top as well as the bottom. There is enough room for both bottom-mounted and top-mounted 240mm radiators. The case can support ATX and E-ATX motherboards.

The right side of the case is where you will house the rest of your components which include your power supply, two 5.25-inch drive bays and detachable hard drive cages that support 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch hard drives. There is a long ventilated section on this side of the case to help with cooling. Of course there will be many cable routing holes to allow you to route cables from the right to left side of the case.
