Corsair M65 Pro RGB Gaming Mouse Review

Corsair M65 Pro RGB Gaming Mouse Review Overview
We received the black version of the M65 Pro RGB, but it also comes in a white version. Although, with the white version the top of the mouse is the only thing that is white, both sides are black still. We definitely like the look of the all-black version the best. The M65 Pro RGB features the same unibody aluminum frame as the previous M65 mice. This gives the mouse a very lightweight body and great durability.

As far as the design goes Corsair keeps the same overall design of the mouse as the previous versions. As the saying goes, “If something isn’t broke don’t fix it” and that remains true here. This design is why the M65 mice are some of the most popular out there for FPS gamers. One noticeable change is that Corsair went back to their classic logo on the palm rest, rather than the Corsair Gaming logo, which they received quite a lot of scrutiny for.

The top part of the mouse has a matte black rubber coating on it, which is very comfortable. On the top of the mouse you have your left and right mouse buttons, scroll wheel, up and down profile / DPI switch buttons and an indicator LED which will light up a certain color to let you know which profile you are on. The left and right mouse buttons use OMRON switches, which are rated for 20 million clicks. The scroll wheel has a good feel to it and has rubber in the center for a comfortable hold on your finger.

Taking a look at the mouse from the front we can see how it slopes down. This will give you that comfortable feel and the palm rest at the back will hold your hand in place. Corsair has kept this design for quite a few years and many gamers swear by it.

Each side of the mouse has a textured finish to it, which allows your fingers to stay put and not fall off the mouse. On the left side of the mouse there are two smaller buttons (back and forward) and the very large sniper button. When you press and hold down the sniper button it lowers the DPI of the mouse down to the default of 400 DPI. You can actually set it as low as 100 DPI. It is a great feature and makes precision shooting in games very easy.

The opposite side of the mouse does not feature any buttons, so in total you have 8 programmable buttons. The opposite side does however have that nice textured finish, so again your fingers will not fall off the mouse.

Flipping the mouse over we can take a look at the biggest addition to this mouse, which is the Pixart PMW336x. It is a 12000 DPI sensor that has surface tuning technology. This technology allows the M65 to tune the sensor to have precise tracking on any surface. There are five PTFE glide pads on the bottom of the mouse that will ensure a good glide across your gaming surface. There are three circles on the bottom of the mouse, these are the removable weights. They can be taken out with a screwdriver or something like a coin. Each one of the weights weigh just under 7 grams.

The mouse has a 1.8 m braided fiber cable attached cable. Having a braided cable is always a plus when it comes to gaming products. Corsair has also changed the USB connector, reinforcing the end of the cable so it is not prone to failure.
