Corsair K68 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review

Usage & Final Thoughts
I have been using the Corsair K68 for about 3 weeks now and I do like it. It is really hard to not like mechanical keyboards, they have a great feel, and because mechanical key switches have a distinct actuation point you know when you a pressing a key, which is crucial in gaming. Cherry MX Red switches were a great choice for this keyboard and they still remain one of the most popular switches among gamers.

I was surprised that the red backing on the keyboard, which essentially protects the key switches from liquid and dust did not impact how the keyboard felt. The keyboard has no flex in it at all and feels just like any other Corsair “K” series keyboard with Cherry MX Red switches. Of course it does have the added feature of being able to withstand spills and dust. This is great if you happen to be very clumsy. Although no keycap remover was included, which would have been nice as you could remove keycaps to fully clean out the keyboard if you did spill something in it.

In this day in age this is more of a standard keyboard. You only have single-color (red) backlighting and no extra keys besides multimedia keys. Dedicated multimedia keys are great though as they make it so you don’t have to leave game to adjust volume or change a song. The also get the included wrist rest, which will add to the comfort of the keyboard.

This keyboard is $99 at our favorite online retailer and while it does lack some things like RGB LEDs and different key switch options it is a solid keyboard and one that does give you the piece of mind if you happen to spill something on it. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Corsair K68 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard a 9 out of 10 score.
