Corsair H100i GTX Liquid CPU Cooler Review

Installation
Installing the H100i GTX is a pretty straight forward simple affair. Just like other Corsair AIO’s even those new to computers should be able to complete the installation.

To begin, we start by attaching the fans to the radiator. You will want to decide which direction you will install the radiator and be sure to orient the fan wires to be facing the back of the case once installed. We decided to install the fans such that they are pushing air out through the top of the case. The fans are attached with the long screws and a washer on each.

Next hold the radiator in place with one hand while you secure it to the case with the small screws and washers. It is sufficient to begin by threading two of these screws by hand and then coming back with a Philips head screwdriver after. Be sure to use all eight screws and washers to ensure the radiator is very secure.

With the radiator in place we can now proceed with the pump installation. We start by setting the backplate up with the pins in the correct position for our socket. They are really simple sliders that can be easily moved by hand. With the backplate set we slide it into place on the backside of the motherboard tray.

The backplate will stay in place on it’s own if you don’t shake the case too much. We will now install the stand-offs into the pins of the backplate. I would suggest holding the back plate with one hand while you thread the stand-offs into place.

The socket is now ready to have the pump/cold plate secured in place. With one hand align the pump with the stand-offs and press and hold the pump into place on the CPU. With the other hand carefully thread the thumb screws onto the stand-offs. Finish all four with a screw driver to ensure they are all completely and evenly tightened down.

Lastly we need to attach all the pump connections. Start with attaching the 3pin to the CPU_FAN header on the motherboard. Next attach both fans to the splitter that comes from the pump. And finally attach the Mini USB plug to the pump and and also to an open USB header on the motherboard.

The hardware installation is now complete and you can start your PC. Be sure to check that both fans spin up and that you can feel a small vibration from the pump. You should also have a lit LED on the front of the pump.

Clicking on the icons for the pump, cooler fan, and cooler LED on the left side of the program will bring up a tab with all the selections for each part. You can change everything from pump and fan speed to the color of the LED on the cooler.
