Testing – HDTune Pro
HDTune Pro is one of the most popular hard drive software suites available. It has many different benchmarks and tests built into it. Our first test is the read benchmark, which tests the average read speed and access time of the drive.
The read score was a little lower than some of the other SandForce drives we have tested, but it was higher than the F100 results. Let’s run the write benchmark…
Interestingly enough the write score was better than the read score. At an average write speed of 225.2MB/s it has the fastest write speed out of all the SandForce-based drives that we have tested!
Since the release of HDTune 3.5 there has been a new Random Access test added to the software. This test measures the performance of random read and write operations. Tests are taken in 512b, 4KB, 64KB, 1MB, and random file sizes. The performance of the drive is reported in operations a second (IOPS), average access time and average speed. Here are both the results from the read and write random access tests.
The 4K read IOPS score of 8451 is one of the best scores we have received! The write scores are also very impressive! Finally we will run the file benchmark.
