Corsair Crystal Series 280X RGB Case Review

A Look Inside
Getting inside the Crystal Series 280X is pretty easy, just remove the 4 thumbscrews on the tempered glass side panel and remove it. Taking a look inside at the main section this is where you are going to house your motherboard, graphics card, and CPU cooler. The case does support graphics cards up to 300 mm and CPU coolers up to 140 mm.

Looking towards the front of the case we see the pre-installed Corsair LL120 fan. We did not mention that you can install either two 120 / 140 mm fans here or watercooling radiators up to 280 mm.

The motherboard tray supports Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX motherboards. There are plenty of cable routing holes so you should be able to route all of your cables easily.

At the top of the case we can of course see that second Corsair LL120 RGB fan. The entire bottom section of the case is ventilated and you can see where you would install your fans.

Taking the back side panel off the case we can get a better look at the second compartment. As you can see this compartment was not design to be shown off, but rather to be functional.

Starting at the top towards the front of the case. Here you will find your SSD cage. It can be removed from the case and supports up to three 2.5-inch solid state drives.

Moving down we find the Corsair Lighting Node Pro RGB controller which has the two included LL120 fans already connected to it, but has room for a total of six fans so if you wanted to completely outfit this case in Corsair LL fans you would be set.

Finally at the top rear of the case is the other hard drive cage. This cage is removable, but you get access to it from the backside of the case so it really is not necessary. Just remove a thumbscrew on the back of the case to gain access to your drive trays, which there are two.
