Corsair AX860i 860W Power Supply Review

Corsair AX860i Overview
The first thing that you will notice about the AX860i is that it is completely modular, there are no cables attached at all. Being modular means you only use the cables you need, which leads to less cable mess inside your case. The unit has a normal ATX power supply form factor so you shouldn’t have an issue getting in your case. The official dimensions are 5.9″(W) x 3.4″(H) X 6.3″(L).

On the front of the unit are all of your modular connections. There are all labeled and there is also a self test button and comm port. The comm port is used to connect to the included Corsair Link module. You then connect the module to an internal USB header on your motherboard.

On each side of the unit is a very large AX860i logo. Since it is on both sides no matter which way you mount the unit you will be able to see the logo, that is if you have a side panel window of course. The back of the unit has a honeycomb design, which will help with airflow. You will also find the power connection and power button back here.

On the bottom of the unit is a 120mm double ball-bearing fan. This fan is actively controlled by the temperature of the unit so if you are not pushing the unit all that much the fan will not be spinning at all. On the top of the unit is the input / output graph.
