Cooler Master Storm Sentinel Advance Gaming Mouse Review

Sentinel Advance Overview

The Sentinel Advance really does not look like any other mouse out there! At first I thought it might have looked like a Razer mouse, but it is nothing like it. This is not some cheap OEM mouse that we have seen from other manufacturers, this is actually a one of a kind mouse developed by Cooler Master.

The left side of the mouse has a groove in it because it is ergonomically designed for right-handed mouse operation. There is also back and forward buttons on the left side of the mouse. The right side of the mouse is pretty much plain but the entire back and side areas of the mouse are covered in a light rubber that is every comfortable on your hands.

The top of the mouse is where all of the action is! First you have what looks like honeycomb holes, but those are to show the LED’s that are on the inside of the mouse. Next you have an OLED screen that will display various things but we will get to that a bit later in the review. In front of the OLED screen there are 2 small buttons that will adjust the Sentinel’s DPI setting on the go. Below those you have the scroll wheel and the profile change button. Of course as always you have 2 large mouse buttons. The overall mouse design is very clean, there are a lot of buttons, but they are not all jumbled together.

Flipping the Sentinel over we can see the sensor. The Sentinel uses a twin lasers in conjunction with Doppler effect processing and real-time tracking technology (as opposed to software prediction) for the best accuracy possible. You will notice 2 large pieces on each side of the mouse; they will help the mouse glide across your mouse pad easily. There is a small compartment that holds 5 4.5g weights, all of which are removable so you can set the Sentinel to the weight you would like.

Another thing to note about the sentinel is that the USB connector cable is not wrapped in the boring plastic we see on most gaming mice, instead Cooler Master went with a lace mesh that works really well. Also the USB connector is gold plated.
