Cooler Master MasterCase Pro 6 Case Review

A Look Inside
Getting inside the MasterCase Pro 6 is as easy as loosening two thumbscrews and sliding the side panel off. Both side panels of the case are extremely easy to take off and put back on. With the side panel of the case removed we can see how Cooler Master has designed the interior of the case. There are two main compartments, the larger top compartment, and then the smaller bottom compartment.

Starting at the front of the case towards the front you have your optical drive cage, which has room for two 5.25-inch drives and makes use of a tool-less locking system. Moving down you have your main hard drive cage. This cage has three hard drive trays, each of which support both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch drives. Both the optical drive cage and this hard drive cage can be completely removed from the case. The hard drive cage is part of Cooler Master’s FreeForm Modular system, so you can actually move it up or down simply my loosening a couple of thumbscrews.

Moving more into the case sitting on top of the panel that separates the two compartments you’ll find two SSD mounts. These are great for showing off your SSDs and can be easily removed for easy installation. Also you’ll find two very large cable routing holes. Besides those two routing holes there are three more large ones, and two smaller ones on the motherboard tray.

On the bottom of the bottom part of the interior you’ll find another hard drive cage. This one is smaller and only has two hard drive trays. It, like the one in the main compartment is completely removable and you even move it up to the top compartment if you want. The rest of the bottom of the case is reserved for your power supplies and hiding cables.

Opening the opposite side of the case we can take a look at how the rest of the case is designed. One thing that really stands out back there are the three velcro tie-downs built into the case itself to help organize your cables. You shouldn’t have to worry about getting things to fit behind the motherboard tray, you have about an inch of space between the back of the motherboard tray and the back side panel.
