Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 5 RGB Case Review

Installation
To start off installation you are going to want to install the standoffs on the motherboard tray. While they are not pre-installed Cooler Master does include a standoff tool, which makes installation easy. We also went ahead and removed the rear fan as we are going to be installing an AiO in the rear of the case.

With everything prepped next we install our motherboard. It goes in very easily and we have a lot of room to work with since there are no 5.25-inch drives in this case.

Power Supply installation is next. Cooler Master sent us over their 650W Master Watt Bronze power supply. These units are 80 PLUS Bronze Certified with a semi-modular design. To get it installed take off the mounting plate from the rear of the case and install it on the rear of the power supply. Then just slide your unit in from the back of the case. Finally secure it with the two large thumbscrews on the mounting plates.

With the power supply I went ahead and installed our AiO, which is the Cooler MasterLiquid 120. It easily installs in the 120 mm fan spot. The larger fan thumbscrews that Cooler Master uses really takes out the frustration associated with lining up the radiator with the rear fan.

Hard drives are next. Now I wanted to install both of my SSDs in the trays so I could display them, but as I mentioned there is only one of these trays included with the case. I thought only a single drive there would look weird so I decided to install both drives in the trays in the bottom section of the case. They easily screw into the trays. On thing that was interesting was that there are only a total of 4 screws for SSDs. So technically only enough screws for 1 SSD. It was a little odd actually, I mean this case has support for at least three solid state drives, but there is only 4 total screws included. I would be very disappointed if I wanted to use all three spots for my build and I was not able to mount one of my drives.

Now you are going to want to make sure you connect your fans. Each fan has two connections, one for power and one for RGB controls. Luckily Cooler Master include 3-to-1 splitters for each of these. The RGB connection is a normal 4-pin RGB connection so you can easily connect it to an RGB header on your motherboard. The fans are compatible with ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light, and Gigabyte RGB Fusion.

Ok time to organize cables! The picture below on the left below is without anything organized and the one on the right is with everything organized. As I said all of those tie-down points really do come in handy. We used the cable ties that came with the case and actually had a few extra!

Closing the back of the case up and moving to the other side we can see we have a very clean build. It would have been nice if there was some type of metal piece to cover the front section of the power supply cover, especially since we are not using a radiator there. As you can see our graphics card fits in there no problem at all. This case supports graphics cards up to 400 mm, which is longer than pretty much every graphics card out there.

The tempered glass side panel really allows you to show off your hardware inside, although I would recommend getting some type of LED strip or a motherboard that has LEDs on it.

Since we have the fans connected to our motherboard we can match them with the LEDs on our motherboard. I have to say the system looks pretty awesome sitting on our desk!
