Checking Out The Mad Catz R.A.T. 1 Gaming Mouse

Mad Catz decided to make most of their announcements before CES this year so we’ve already known about the R.A.T. 1, but we stopped by to check it out this week at CES. Like all things Mad Catz the R.A.T. 1 is unlike any other mouse you’ve seen before!

Mad Catz tells us that the R.A.T. 1 is an everyday lifestyle mouse. The mouse itself is actually made up of three individual components. They are the tripod chassis, detachable sensor module, and the palm rest. The tripod chassis gives the mouse an open design, which means air will get to your hand and you won’t be sweating all over the mouse.

All three parts of the mouse are actually easily detachable. You can actually use the sensor module as a mouse on its own, much like a travel mouse. The sensor module has two main buttons and a scroll wheel. It also packs in a 3500 DPI optical sensor. The palm rest on the mouse is adjustable in two different positions and as we mentioned you can take it completely off of the mouse.

Mad Catz actually gives users the 3D files for the palm rest so you can 3D print your own palm rest. What’s even better is that the Mad Catz R.A.T. 1 is retailing now for only $30!
