MiniStation Extreme NFC Portable Hard Drive Overview
The MiniStation Extreme NFC is a pretty dull looking portable hard drive, but honestly you really can’t expect much. It is all black and has the Buffalo logo towards the bottom. If you were looking for other colors besides black you won’t find them.
While the enclosure of the drive does not look like much it offers a lot to protect the drive inside. You have military spec shock protection, IPX3 standard water resistance, IP5X standard dust resistance. Its ruggedized chassis and specialized internal bumpers absorb and transfer shock away from the hard disk due to accidental bumps and drops from up to 1.2 meters.
Flipping the drive over there are four small rubber feet that will keep the drive from moving around on your desk.
The drive includes an integrated and flexible USB 3.0 cable. I really like this because so many times I will forget to bring a cable with my portable hard drive. This design ensures you will always be able to use the drive, and if you need a longer cable they include an extension cable.
On the front of the drive there is a Kensington lock port if you needed to lock the drive up.
