Braven BRV-1 Bluetooth Speaker Review

Final Thoughts
There are so many Bluetooth speakers out there it is really hard to tell what separates one from another. When it comes to the Braven BRV-1 the big thing that makes it stand out from other Bluetooth speakers out there is that it is waterproof. This means you can have it out in the elements and not have to worry about it getting damaged. Have it at a pool party and it accidentally falls in? No worries! We had the BRV-1 out in the snow and rain and it functioned just fine.

Beyond being waterproof the BRV-1 has a very rugged design. This means it can take those accidental drops and falls. We had some fun throwing it around and it survived it all! Another cool thing about the BRV-1 is that it has a USB power port so you can charge your mobile device easily.

The one thing that I was a little disappointed with was the audio quality. While the 6W speaker is pretty powerful the sound produced is not the best we’ve experienced. As I mentioned earlier in this review we think this is because the speaker has a single 6W speaker. I directly compared it with the Divoom Voombox Outdoor and you could definitely tell the difference. The Voombox Outdoor has a dual 7.5W speakers. The speaker is still more than loud enough to fill a room and be used outdoors at say a pool party or campfire.

The BRV-1 is currently selling for $99 at our favorite online retailer, which seems fair as this speaker is completely waterproof. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Braven BRV-1 Bluetooth Speaker an 8 out of 10 score.
