Usage & Testing
Getting the Braven BRV-1 setup is very easy. The first thing you are going to want to do is charge it up. As you charge it the LEDs on the back will illuminate to let you know how charged up it is.
Once you have the BRV-1 charged up press and hold down the power button for six seconds. This will put the BRV-1 in pairing mode. Once in pairing mode go into the Bluetooth settings on your device and you should see “BRAVEN BRV-1” in the list. Select it, wait a few second and your device will now be paired. The speaker will make an audible tone to let you know it is paired.
I have been using the BRV-1 for a few weeks now. I have listened to it both inside and outside. While the sound that comes out of the speaker is pretty powerful it is not the best we’ve experienced. I think the main reason for this is because it is a single 6W speaker. Many of the other Bluetooth speakers that we’ve used have dual speakers and not a single one.
When it comes to surviving the elements the BRV-1 can handle pretty much anything you throw at it. We had it out in the snow, rain, and even dumped water on it. We also had some fun throwing it around the yard. Through it all the BRV-1 played music flawlessly and was no worse for wear. If you are looking for a Bluetooth speaker that will survive the elements this is it!
