be quiet! Dark Rock TF CPU Cooler Review

be quiet! Dark Rock TF Overview
If there is one thing I always enjoy about be quiet’s CPU coolers is that they look great and the Dark Rock TF is no exception. The heatsink itself is made of nickel-plated aluminum and has nice black accents. This cooler is definitely going to look nice once it is installed.

The way the cooler is designed is that we have two heatsinks: a larger top heatsink and a smaller bottom heatsink. You can see the be quiet! logo across the bottom heatsink. These heatsinks are connected via heatpipes, four heatpipes go into the smaller heatsink while all six go into the larger heatsink.

Taking a look at cooler from the top we can see how the heatpipes go into the larger heatsink. The heatsinks are fin arrays that are made of nickel-plated aluminum. You will notice rubber bumpers on the top of the heatsink, this is to cut down on vibration once you’ve installed the fans. These rubber bumpers are also on the bottom of the heatsink for the second fan.

The six heatpipes themselves are 6 mm thick and are made of nickel-plated copper. The nickel plating allows the cooler to keep its sleek looks.

All six of the heatpipes go through the nickel-plated copper base of the cooler. Four of these heatpipes start at the smaller heatsink then go through the base then up into the larger heatsink. Two more start at the base and go up into the larger heatsink. Taking a look at the base it has a very nice finish, which should make for good contact and good heat transfer.
