Installation & Testing
Getting the Dark Power Pro 10 installed in your system is just like any other power supply. Mount it and connect your cables and you are good to go. Since this power supply has modular cables you only use the cables you need. This makes for less cable mess and clutter inside your case. I had no issues installing the Dark Power Pro in the Cooler Master Cosmos II.
We will be testing the Dark Power Pro 10 in our Intel X79 system, which is comprised of the following components.
Processor: Intel Core i7-3820
Motherboard: ASUS P9X79 Pro
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 680
Memory: 64GB Kingston HyperX Beast
Power: be quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 550W
Storage: 750GB SATA II Drive
Cooling: Noctua NH-L12
Case: Cooler Master Cosmos II with 5 fans
We will be using OCCT to test this power supply. Initial spot check on the 3.3V, 5V and 12V rails were 3.33V, 5.0V and 12.19V respectively. We will be running OCCT’s power supply test for 30 minutes to stress test the power supply. Below are the results.

The 3.5V rail had the most “ripple” as you can see from the graph above. The 12V rail seemed to be the most solid. The deviation for the 3.3V, 5V and 12V rails are 1.2%, .80% and .73% respectively. This is great as we like to see anywhere 5% and under.
