ASUS Unveils the ROG Rampage IV Black Edition Motherboard For Ivy Bridge-E Processors

ASUS has just unveiled their latest Republic of Gamers motherboard the Rampage IV Black Edition at IDF13. The Rampage IV Black Edition features the X79 chipset and LGA 2011 socket which supports Intel’s latest Ivy Bridge-E Processors.

This being the “Black Edition” you have an all black design with ASUS’s signature red accents. All of the expansion slots, memory slots and heatsinks are all black. The board features a powerful DIGI+ III VRM which will provide great stability for overclocking. The board does fall under the Republic of Gamers brand so you have gaming features like the Supreme-FX Audio and gaming LAN ports. The SupremeFX audio features WIMA and ELNA capacitors, OpAmp headphone amplifier and 120dB SNR. You will also get ASUS’s Sonic Radar software, which we covered in our review of the Maximus VI Hero.

Of course this being an X79 motherboard you have 8 DDR3 slots that are capable of supporting up to 128 GB of 2400 MHz (OC+) memory. Storage on the board includes 12 SATA ports, 8 of which are SATA 6GB/s. On the rear I/O you have eight USB 3.0 ports, six USB 2.0 ports, PS/2 port, reset button, ROG link button, dual eSATA, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac WiFi, and 8.1 channel audio.

Expansion includes four PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots and two PCI-Express 3.0 x1 slots. So you will be able to have an SLI or CrossFireX setup. Other features on the board include power and reset buttons, dip switches to turn off PCI-Express lanes, a debug LED, LN2 switch and voltage reading points.

ASUS did not mention pricing, but this board is expected to go on sale very soon!
