ASUS ROG Matrix R9 280X Platinum Pictured

Photos of ASUS’s top of the line Republic of Gamers Matrix R9 280X Platinum graphics card have been leaked! Looking at the photos you can see that this card is pretty much a rebrand of the Radeon HD 7970 ROG Matrix card. The only real difference is that this card has overclocked memory. The clocks for core clock, boost clock and memory are 950 MHz, 1100 MHz and 1600 MHz respectively.

ASUS ROG Matrix R9 280X Platinum

If you have been following our posts you know that the R9 280X is based off the Tahiti XT chip that has 2048 stream processors, 128 TMUs and 32 ROPs. This card is loaded with six display outputs: four DisplayPorts, one DVI and one HDMI. The card gets power from dual 8pin power connectors. ASUS’s HD 7970 Matrix had a TDP of 300W so we expect this card to be no different.
