ASUS Reveals PB298Q Ultra Wide 21:9 Panoramic Monitor

ASUS has another Ultra Wide monitor on their hands. The last one we talked about was the Designo Series MX299Q which is a 29-inch display. The PB298Q which we are talking about today is also a 29-inch display that features an Ultra Wide 21:9 aspect ratio with a resolution of 2560 x 1080.

Many of you probably use multiple displays. I currently do and even though I’ve got used to the bezels in the center having one large panoramic display would be much better. That is what ASUS is trying to accomplish with the PB298Q.

The display features an AH-IPS (Advanced High Performance in Plane Switching) panel with a viewing angle of 178 degrees. You also have a very impressive 80,000,000:1 ASUS smart contrast ratio with a 300 cd/m2 brightness.

While this is a large display it can be adjusted and its configuration can be changed in many different ways. You are able to tilt, swivel, adjust the height and rotate the display 90 degrees for portrait use.

There are 3W stereo speakers for audio playback and inputs include DisplayPort, HDMI and Dual-Link DVI.

No word yet on pricing from ASUS.

About 10 years of computer experience. Been messing around with electronics since I was 5, got into computers when I was in highschool, been modding them ever since then. Very interested in how things work and their design.
