Included Software & Temperatures
ASUS’s HD 6870 DirectCU comes with ASUS’s Smart Doctor software that allows you to monitor the temperature and fan speed on the card. It also has sliders at allow you to easily overclock the card.
The SmartDoctor software has quite a few different settings, the one I like the most is that you can set the fan speed to manual or enable SmartCooling, which will keep the card nice and cool.
So what do the temperatures look on this card? Unfortunately we do not have a reference HD 6870 on hand so we were not able to compare this card directly to them, but we did compare it to a reference HD 6850 and HD 6950.
As you can see the DirectCU cooler really did prove itself in our temperature tests.
