We got our first look at a DirectCU Mini card in the form of ASUS’s GTX 760 DirectCU Mini back at CeBIT 2013. The whole point of the card was to offer a compact version over the normal reference versions and ASUS’s other DirectCU cards. ASUS will soon be updating the line with the GeForce GTX 760 DirectCU Mini. This card will feature the same design, but is powered by a refined GeForce 700 series architecture.
The card will be the most compact GeForce GTX 760 in the world. It is only 17cm long, which makes it perfect for small builds at HTPC setups. The card will make use of the GK104-22-A2 core that has 1152 CUDA cores, 32 ROPs and 96 TMUs. The card has a maximum frequency of 1072 using GPU Boost 2.0. It will also have 2 GB of GDDR5 memory running at 6008 MHz (effective) across a 256-bit interface.
The DirectCU Mini cooling system is made up of a copper vapor chamber placed directly on top of the GPU, and an aluminum heatsink. There is also a new CoolTech fan which has wide-angle powerful airflow. The card features Super Alloy Power capacitors, chokes, and MOSFETs are hardened against heat and stress, averaging 2.5 times the lifespan of generic parts.
A reference GeForce GTX 760 is going for about $249, we are hearing this version would sell for $349.
