Overclocking
Overclocking is very capable on this motherboard, but is limited by the included CPU cooler. If you are going to be doing any type of overclocking I would suggest using a compatible AiO liquid CPU cooler. Since we were limited to the included air cooler our overclock cannot be called “stable” because as soon as we would put full load on the processor the temperature would skyrocket well above what we were comfortable running the CPU at.
With that said I was easily able to bring our Core i7-5960X up to 4.4 GHz, which has been the max “stable” overclock we have achieved with our other X99 motherboards. This again is not a “stable” overclock because of our cooling solution. It does however show you that the board is quite capable of being overclocked and that the power delivery system can definitely handle it.
