ASRock P55 Extreme4 Motherboard Review

The BIOS
The ASRock P55 Extreme4 has one of the best BIOS layouts I have seen in awhile. While its very straight forward it does give you a array of all the settings you want all in one place instead of different areas. Here is a picture of the First screen you get when you load into the BIOS. It gives you the run down as what the system is running at and the memory specs.

Now to the OC Tweaker Screen in the BIOS. This area of the BIOS gives you a lot to do and play with. By far the best feature in this is the Turbo 40% and Turbo 50% these will able you to do a easy overclock at 40% or 50% the speed of your processor. All this is completed with one setting. I am one for sure happy with this.

The Next Screen in the BIOS is the H/W Monitor. In this you can see the speeds of the CPU fan and also the Temps of the ASRock P55 Extreme4 motherboard and also the CPU itself.

The Boot section and Security are the same as any other motherboard out there.

Overclocking
Now this is where we get to have some fun. I love overclocking and after playing in the BIOS and seeing a lot of the features I decided to just try out the Turbo 50% and see where it would put me.

After Booting up it startup screen says 3.99 GHz. Now after booting into windows to make sure everything seemed good. After a little bit of bench testing I liked how it was running so I decided to do benchmarks at this setting. This isn’t my best overclock with a I5-750. My max OC is 4.6 GHz with it. But this board at 4 GHz is stable and easily accessed. Here is a CPU-Z with using the Turbo 50% setting.
