Installation
The installation for the Freezer 13 is intended to be quick and simple. We installed it on an LGA 775 processor. The included manual includes some detailed pictures showing how to install the items, but no actual text for instructions, which doesn’t help any. For the installation you will only need mounting bracket, the tan/black pushpin parts and two screws.
The first step is to align the tan pushpin part on the mounting bracket. There are three holes in each of the four corners, one for LGA 775, 1156, and 1366. The hole closest to the center is the 775. Once you get those parts in you can align it on your motherboard.
Then simply press the black pushpin parts into the tan holders until you hear a click. The black should peak through the tan clips on the bottom of the motherboard.
To install the cooler you need to remove the fan. The best way to remove it, that I found, is to use a flat-bladed screwdriver to pull up on the plastic clips locking it onto the heatsink.
Once you get the fan removed you can then attach the heatsink using the two screws to secure it to the mounting bracket.
Then you can re-install the fan with just a push and a snap. Then you can go back to installing your motherboard, assuming you removed it; however it’s not necessary to remove the motherboard for this installation.
The cooler takes up minimal space inside of the case.
