Apple iPod Nano 3rd Generation MP3 Player Review

Audio and Video Quality
Apple includes a set of headphones, ear buds really. They are better than most sets of headphones that you see with MP3 players. They are nothing to rave about though, they get the job done. Apple has kept with the white design on their headphones that made them very popular in the first place. Audio quality on the Nano is great. You don’t need to turn the volume way up to hear music.

Unlike previous versions of the iPod Nano this version does support video. The 2-inch QVGA screen has a 320 x 240 resolution. I tried a few made for iPod video podcasts and they looked great on the small screen. They played very smooth, no skipping or jittering at all. Having the video capability is a nice feature, but it is something I don’t see myself using on a daily basis.

To show you how easy the iPod is to operate I made a short video of me going through the menus.

Final Thoughts
The iPod is the most popular MP3 player and for good reason. Coming in a few different flavors the iPod Nano is a great player for someone looking for something a little bit better than the Shuffle and that has a larger capacity. The 8GB version will hold up to 2,000 songs which is more than enough for a trip or for daily use. Also the choice of 6 colors is a nice choice. The change from the candy bar style to more of a square design is a bit different, but very functional.

After using an iPod it is hard to go to any other type of MP3 player. The iPod is so easy to navigate and use. The scroll wheel is the big reason for that, it is so simple, yet so effective. Also Apple does a great job with the GUI, everything is looks very nice and organized. The addition of coverflow is also a nice plus.

There really is nothing I can say bad about this product. You can get it from Geeks.com for just over $100! It does everything it is supposed to do and does it very well. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Apple iPod Nano 3rd Generation MP3 Player a 10 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award!
