Antec EarthWatts Platinum 650W Power Supply Review

Installation & Testing
We installed the EarthWatts Platinum into our P67 test system, which is comprised of the following components.

Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K
Motherboard: MSI P67A-GD55 motherboard
Videos Card: Zotac GTX560 Ti AMP!
Memory: 8GB Kingston HyperX Genesis
Drives: 750GB SATA drive and a Blu-ray drive.
Case: Rosewill Thor V2, with 4 fans

The power supply went in effortlessly and since we were using a full tower case it was pretty easy to hide our cables.

To test the power supply we will be using OCCT.  This software runs a test and monitors the rails on the power supply and spits out a graph of the test data.  We will be running the test for 30 minutes. Note: For some reason OCCT’s sensors detected the 12V rail as 9V.  We checked this rail with both a multimeter and AIDA64 and it was at 12V.  So the 12V graph you will see below is actually it at 12V.

3.3V

As you can see there was fluctuation in all of the rails, but they were all around 1% and anything below 5% is what we like to see.
