Amped Wireless REC22P Overview
The Amped Wireless REC22P is your typical plug-in WiFi range extender so it is not all that big. As you can see here we have attached the included antenna. So keep in mind where you will be installing this as you will need the room for the antenna. The REC22P has a pass-thru power connection, this way you will not lose an outlet when you install it. There is also a rapid charging USB power port. This is a nice addition and something many WiFi extenders don’t have. Also on the front there are two small LEDs, one of for power and the other shows signal strength of the WiFi network you are connecting to.
Since this is a plug-in range extender on the back of course we have our power connection. On the back you will find MAC addresses for both the 2.5 GHz and 5 GHz networks as well as the default WPS pin number. Amped Wireless tells us the REC22P can cover up to 11,000 sq ft! That is made possible by the four 2.4/5GHz amplifiers, four low noise amplifiers, and two high gain dual band antennas (one internal, one external).
At the bottom of the REC22P you will find a Gigabit Ethernet port. This is another great addition that allows you to connect a device like a Smart TV, game console, or even PC that does not have WiFi capabilities. On the bottom you will also find the WPS button and factory reset switch. All in all the REC22P is very well put together and does not seem cheap.
